Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the NFL season and after last week's discussion regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests was the number of infractions each conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

But it was good to observe how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall before direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory 21-17.

Denver have the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing extra pass rushers but they could position two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has excelled significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding different arm angles to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not bothered by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the defence to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense must defend the field vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for him to have a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can really develop him how he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in their division. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to be without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
