President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Injured National Guard Members to the White House

President Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the presidential home.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Tragic Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Vigils across the state have taken place in their honor.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump addressed the press. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Reaction

Mourners came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to support policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her former high school, stated to the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Steps and Policy Adjustments

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the government to halt refugee claims and cease granting visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader the governor stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told the program that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
