Liverpool's Star Offers Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the uproar from his public comments.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and stating his connection to the head coach had broken down.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.

Moving Forward

Jones insisted that the team's response was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Their results have been impressive in the period after the situation. He feels the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, performing and starting to win games.”
