Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, per reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.

The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
